To celebrate Philippine Environment Month and to reiterate its commitment to be a socially responsible corporate citizen in the community, the Property Management and Building Administration teams of Ortigas and Company Limited Partnership organized a seminar on solid waste management and efficient lighting last June 20.

The seminar was held in the morning at Tiendesitas which also served as the official launch of the practice of ESWM in this innovative Filipiniana mall. The seminar was attended by the store tenants and each were given ceremonial garbage bags to bring home the message.

Speakers for the seminar included: Ms. Emy Aguinaldo, Deputy Director for the Environmental Management Bureau-NCR; Ms. Adelia Licos, Senior Development Associate, Center for Social Development, Ayala Foundation, Inc.; Ms. Shalini Morta, Task Specialist, Department of Energy-Philippine Efficient Lighting Market Transformation Project.

The speakers transferred venues for the ESWM and Efficient Lighting Seminar for the Ortigas Building which was held in the afternoon.

Later in the month, Tiendesitas participated in the Recyclables Collection Event held at the QC Memorial Circle. Tiendesitas-Frontera Verde also won as an Ecotourist Commercial Center in the 433rd Araw ng Pasig, Dangal ng Pasig 2006 Awarding Ceremonies.
