The Foundation believes in the Filipino tradition of Bayanihan. From the root words "Bayani" or hero and "Bayan" or community, Bayanihan loosely translated is "being a hero to one's community". Thus, Ortigas Foundation encourages OCLP employees and others to be heroes to their communities through various volunteerism and outreach programs.

Past initiatives include housebuilding for Gawad Kalinga and Habitat for Humanity and providing aid to disaster victims in Mt. Pinatubo and Infanta, Quezon. This year, OFI will spearhead more diverse volunteerism initiatives to be able to reach out to a greater number of people.
